Children's stories in the 21st century
This blog is a chronological collection of my thoughts on children’s stories created and shared in the 21st century. Digital, multimodal, personal and personalized, created with and without iPads, tablets, smartphones and other technologies.

My research and work on the Our Story app has intensified and challenged my thinking in relation to several aspects of children’s stories.
It made me think about personalization and authenticity in the 21st century, the role of multiple modes in the expression of meaning, visualization of stories through digital media and other issues which I address in my research.
In this series of blogs, I share some of the questions I have grappled with at various stages of progress, from conceptual questions at the design stage of the app to researchable questions when evaluating the app’s use in various school and home settings. These are my personal reflections, intended as points for discussion with everyone who reads these posts.
